Chagressia antis gen. n., sp. n. (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae, Gelechiinae) from Panama

A new monotypic genus Chagressia gen. nov. is described from Panama with type species Ch. antis sp. nov. According to the structure of the male genitalia, such as the form of uncus, reduction of the valvae, and long narrow caecum of the aedeagus, we bring the new genus closer to the genus Chionodes Hubner, also represented in Central America by a significant number of species, and include it into the Gelechiini tribe. A male of the type species has fusiform lamellar sclerites under the lobes of the 8th abdominal tergite.
