Первая документированная регистрация чайки Кумлиена Larus glaucoides kumlieni Brewster, 1883 в России

Чайка Кумлиена — подвид полярной чайки Larus glaucoides kumlieni Brewster, 1883, гнездящийся в основном в южной части о. Баффинова Земля и зимующий на северо-востоке Канады и США. В Азии эту чайку регистрировали на зимовке в Японии и Южной Корее, но не было ни одной достоверной находки ее на территории России. В данном сообщении приводится информация о первом документированном наблюдении чайки Кумлиена в северо-восточной части Охотского моря, где 2 марта 2020 г. сфотографировали взрослую особь в зимнем наряде в координатах 57°03′00″N, 153°23′10″E в 170 км от побережья Западной Камчатки. Анализ описательных диагностических признаков в сравнении с близкородственными формами glaucoides и thayeri показал, что все они соответствуют L. g. kumlieni. Достоверность идентификации подтверждена Фаунистической комиссией при Мензбировском орнитологическом обществе.
