A further contribution to the knowledge of the fauna of fungus gnats (Diptera: Bolitophilidae, Keroplatidae, Mycetophilidae) from the Republic of Dagestan

Abstract

A list of 87 species of fungus gnats (Diptera: Bolitophilidae, Keroplatidae, Mycetophilidae) which are newly recorded from the Republic of Dagestan is provided. The number of species known from the region is increased to 141, i. e., more than two and a half times. Four species, Orfelia georgica Kurina and Jürgenstein, 2013, Phthinia hyrcanica Zaitzev, 1984, Exechiopsis (Exechiopsis) intersecta (Meigen, 1818), and Lusitanoneura chandleri (Caspers, 1991), are recorded for the first time from Russia, the latter also being the first record of the genus from Russia. New data on species previously recorded from the region are reported. For a number of more interesting species illustrations of male terminalia are given.
