Rare and previously unknown species of the genus Bibio Geoffroy, 1764 of the Far East of Russia

Abstract

The paper presents new data on the distribution of species from the genus Bibio Geoffroy, 1764 in the Far East of Russia. In particular, it examines a detailed imaginal morphology of 11 species from the genus Bibio. It is discovered that the position of the wing eye on the radial section of the wing, chaetotaxy of tergite 9 and cercus and the structure of aedeagus are effective additional diagnostic elements. Two new species for the fauna of Russia are registered: B. nigriclavipes Hardy et Takahashi, 1960 and В. singularis Hardy et Takahashi, 1960. The paper also provides an original key to the examined species.
