WATER MITES OF THE GENUS PIONACERCUS PIERSIG, 1894 (ACARI: HYDRACHNIDIA, PIONIDAE) IN RUSSIA

The study presents a detailed taxonomic review of water mites of the genus Pionacercus Piersig, 1894 (Pionidae) found in the fauna of Russia during the long-term survey between 1970 and 2008. The review includes illustrated (re)descriptions of males and females of seven species: Pionacercus leuckartii Piersig, 1894, P. uncinatus (Koenike, 1895), P. norvegicus Thor, 1898, P. colymicus Tuzovskij, 1982, P. anadyrensis Tuzovskij, 2001, P. tundrosum Tuzovskij, 2001, and P. major Tuzovskij, 2005. Diagnostic keys to the adult males and females of all species are presented.
