Abstract

The new stygobiont amphipod species, Pseudocrangonyx febras, collected from the underground waters of the Arsenyevka River basin (Russia, Primorye) is described. The new species differs from congeners with the setation of the mandible palp, propodus of the male gnathopod 2 being armed with three serrated spines after defining angle, pereopod 7 0,95 times as long as pereopod 6, ecdysial spines on the ventral face of uronit 1 are absent, rami of the male uropod 2 with serrated spines, proximal segment of the outer ramus of uropod 3 is about from 2,2 (♂) to 2,7 (♀) times as long as peduncle. The female of Pseudocrangonyx levanidovi Birstein from the Khor River springs is described for the first time.
