Dynamics of quantitative characteristics of zoobenthos in the riffle-pool structure of the small salmon river in the south of Primorsky Krai

Abstract

The article based on the results of the annual series of  the collections 2020-2021. It contains data on the quantitative characteristics of zoobenthos from the elements of the riffle-pool structure of the metarithral of the small salmon Tigrovaya River (Partizansky Municipal District of Primorsky Krai). For the first time, it has been shown that their dynamics are individual for the communities of pool, riffle and run. The role of each of the system's elements in the formation  of the overall abundance and the overall biomass of the zoobenthos of the pool-riffle structure varies throughout the year. The greatest contribution to the abundance during the ice-free period was mainly made by the inhabitants of the pool, but the role of the riffle increased when the water froze. In the period from July to October, the biomass at the pool and riffle was low, while at the run it varied widely. In the November and January-February the general increase of this characteristic had place.
