Plinachtus bicoloripes Scott, 1874, native to Southeast Asia and previously reported from Kunashir Island, is reported for the first time from the mainland of the southern Russian Far East, near Vladivostok. Variability in the pronotal angles of individuals is discussed; the collected material shows a predominance of two forms, obtuse-angled and spiny-angled, in approximately equal quantities, with a small number of intermediate forms. Previously, spiny-angled individuals were classified as a separate species, P. dissimilis Hsiao, 1964, which was synonymized with P. bicoloripes Scott, 1874 by Chinese colleagues (Li et al. 2010) in an article published in Chinese. The northern boundary of P. bicoloripes range reaches 43° N, where Vladivostok, southern Kunashir Island, and northern Hokkaido are located. The food plants of P. bicoloripes have been identified; these are plants of the Celastraceae family: Euonymus sacrosancta, Eu. maximowiczianus, Celastrus orbiculata, Tripterygium regelii.
